Karnow-workshopAn invitation from National Geographic Traveler photographer Catherine Karnow:

Dear Friends,

I am thrilled to announce my 2015 Catherine Karnow Photo Workshop in Umbria, Italy. This workshop is open for enrollment, with early registration discounts available through December 20, 2014.

This workshop will be what it is like to be me, Catherine Karnow, on assignment for my favorite travel magazine clients, such as National Geographic Traveler. I have handpicked the most fun parts and people for you to meet and photograph. We will also learn from local experts about the culture, history, art, and food of Umbria.  This workshop is loads of fun, and full of eccentric, unique experiences, as well as yoga, yummy food and delicious wine.

You can find additional details here:

The 10-day photo workshop, aimed at all levels of photographers, will focus on the people, culture and food of Umbria. Excursions include photographing the local Fiat Cinquecento club; going out with fishermen to photograph their ancient way of fishing; joining in a vibrant festival of ancient rituals; dining with an aristocratic couple in their elegant palazzo; and much more!

We stay at La Locanda della Quercia Calante, a beautifully restored farmhouse and cottages twenty minutes from Orvieto. The food at La Locanda is delicious and healthy, much of it from their own organic farm. Yoga is optional and spa services are also available.

There will be daily photo critiques, and serious emphasis placed on improving your photography, creatively and technically.

Come join us for the adventure of a lifetime!

“I have found that there are only a few occasions where you are lucky to meet an individual who profoundly influences your life. They not only impact what you do but they also impact who you are and what you can be. Catherine is one such person who fits this description for me. I feel blessed, extremely grateful and honored that I met her. Being able to study the true art of photography from Catherine at the Umbria workshop in 2013 and 2014 has greatly impacted how I can look at the world through my photography. Seeing how my photographs, that were taken at last year’s workshop, were received by people at this year’s workshop taught me the heart, soul and essence of photography in a very profound and everlasting way. Catherine was the one who guided me on this incredibly wonderful path and I will be forever grateful for this gift.”
