SavageAntiguaNeed some inspiration? Roz Savage’s new book, Stop Drifting, Start Rowing, is due out on October 15th. Roz holds four world records, including First Woman to Solo Row Three Oceans: Atlantic, Pacific, Indian. She is a National Geographic Adventurer of the Year 2010 and a Yale World Fellow 2012.

Here’s how Roz describes the book: “Based on my Pacific crossing between 2008 and 2010, Stop Drifting, Start Rowing is a story about my quest to raise awareness of environmental issues, as well as a personal search for happiness and meaning. It describes my failed voyage of 2007 and the soul-searching that ensued, followed by three successful voyages to make me the first woman to row solo across the Pacific. I share the insights I gained along the way – psychological, spiritual and environmental.

“I’m tremendously excited about the book – I had great fun writing it, and I trust people will enjoy reading it. I’d be really grateful if you could help me spread the word. I’ve added a list of ways you can help to the end of this email.

“I’ve dedicated years of hard work to planning and executing my voyages, living on next to nothing, supported by the kindness of my friends around the world. This book is my way of paying forward all the generosity that was shown to me while I was dedicating my life to planning and executing my voyages. I feel this book has a lot to offer, and have received tremendously positive feedback from the people who have already seen it. My hope is that you’ll help me in sharing my story.”

Here is what readers said about Roz’s first book, Rowing the Atlantic.
